The wait is finally over. Every driver, rider and crew in the Dakar has spent the last year gearing up for the race that starts tomorrow, 7 January 2019. The third day of scrutineering will put the spotlight on all the competitors who are itching for revenge after last year's edition. Aside from Matthias Walkner, who prevailed in Córdoba, a plethora of bikers with solid credentials are expected to go through the procedure today, including KTM's Sam Sunderland and Toby Price as well as Yamaha's Adrien Van Beveren, Franco Caimi and Xavier de Soultrait. Meanwhile, the X-Raid Team's Mini armada is set to make a strong impression on the car category, with Sainz, Peterhansel and Despres joining forces with Nani Roma and two promising drivers, Jakub Przygoński and Yazeed Al-Rajhi. Today, they will come across Toyota's Nasser Al-Attiyah, Giniel De Villiers and Bernhard ten Brinke, as well as Sébastien Loeb, who will be playing a new role at the wheel of a Peugeot fielded by the PH-Sport private team.
